"I've been Dr S's patient for 13 years and now commute over 50 miles just for him."

Invisalign® is a tooth-straightening system that uses removable plastic trays or aligners to move teeth into their correct positions over time. The aligners are completely clear and virtually invisible while they’re worn. Patients receive a set of aligners that are custom-made specifically for their needs and their mouth shape. The aligners are worn in a specific sequence to help teeth move into their ideal positions.
Once the patient is determined to be a good candidate for Invisalign®, the treatment will begin with an impression of the teeth. The impression will be sent to a special lab and scanned into a computer. Special software will create three-dimensional models of the mouth based on the impression, showing the movements the teeth will need to make to shift into the proper positions. The series of aligners will then be created out of strong, medical-grade plastic based on these models. During the treatment, each aligner will be worn for about two weeks before being “swapped out” for the next one in the series, and the patient will visit the office about once every six weeks to ensure the treatment is progressing well. Most people can complete treatment in two years or less.
That depends in part on personal preference. Invisalign® does offer several benefits compared to traditional braces. For instance, the clear plastic aligners are smooth, so no sharp brackets or wires will irritate gums and other soft tissues. The aligners are removable, so it’s easier to brush and floss teeth, and they can be removed when the patient eats, so the patient doesn’t have to worry about dietary restrictions. Plus, because they’re clear, they’re very difficult to detect. And finally, since they’re custom made, treatment can often be completed more quickly compared to traditional metal braces.
Invisalign® can be used to address most alignment issues, but they’re not ideal for everybody. To determine if Invisalign® is a good choice, people should schedule an appointment so they can be evaluated.
A few words about cost… There is no dentistry more expensive (at any price) than one that you may not need, may not last, or leads to further treatment. That is why the core of our efforts revolve around the most careful and conservative diagnosis with treatment aimed to give you a healthy confident smile for a lifetime. We will listen to your concerns. Make conservative recommendations and offer alternatives. And help you prioritize your care to give you the best possible results. Insurance Information… We are often asked whether we accept a particular dental insurance plan. Our most comprehensive answer is that we accept and help you maximize virtually all traditional PPO dental insurance plans. In other words, as long as you do not have a dental HMO (one where you have been assigned to a particular HMO clinic) and are free to visit a dentist of your choice, you will be able to take advantage of our excellent care. We will gladly process your insurance paperwork for you. Read more…Simply bring your plan information with you or have the policy number ready so we can look up your coverage before you come in to see us. We will work with you and your dental insurance company to maximize your dental benefits with your existing type of coverage and help you prioritize your care to receive the most benefit from your plan. In addition to in-office insurance processing, we provide several financial options, including care credit, to make dental treatment affordable for our patients. Finally, many people are unaware of the fact that insurance benefits expire and renew every year whether you use them or not. In other words, allowing your insurance benefits to expire without visiting the dentist is like throwing you money away.
